Hi, Friends.....

Wow!!  What a great start to the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop we had yesterday!!!  Lots of new faces showing up and lots of regulars, too.  Thank you for your enthusiasm and kind words.  You all are soooooo awesome.

I am so glad you are back today to join us for Day 2 of our 2019 Cat Lovers Hop.  A big thanks to everyone who already pounced on the Daily Game yesterday.  I enjoyed reading about new kitties and catching up on other cats who have made regular appearances on here over the last several years.

If you haven't participated in the Kitty Roll Call from yesterday's Daily Game, I hope you will go back and do so.  You can enter any of the Daily Games all week long. We hope to hear from the rest of you throughout the week.  The games are fun and really help us get to know you and your kitties.

I'm also enjoying the projects that have been linked up already.  Fabulous!!  I love seeing cat products out there that I didn't even know existed. I make a note of the companies for future sponsor possibilities!!  ;)

One more thing before we get going for today.....

If you notice broken links or links going to the wrong pages, PLEASE send me a note!! Thanks to alert reader, Gail, mass confusion (and maybe even an international CAT-astrophy) was averted when she noticed links to a particular page were not working. I super-appreciate everyone's help in this matter!!!

Just a reminder.....You must SIGN IN HERE to be eligible for prizes. Also, LINK UP ALL PROJECTS ON THE MAIN HOP PAGE by 11:55 pm Pacific, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019.  I have my 2019 Cat Lovers Hop Guidelines and FAQs in a handy tab just under my header at the top of each page.

Okay.... Let's get right to the events for today.

My featured sponsors today are: Lost Coast Designs, Stampendous!, Paper Smooches, Your Next Stamp, MarkerPOP, and, as always, for our Daily Game, Ike's Art.

BONUS:  Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes + MEOW-loween.  So if you make a kitty creation for the Cat Hop (Halloween or not), you can also link it up over there!!  Yay!!

Ike has graciously designed a fabulous new set of digital images for prizes for our Daily Games.......her brand-new Mood Cat digital set with interchangeable faces to add to the cat image. How fun and creative is that??!!! She is generously providing a set of these to a lucky winner of the Daily Game EACH day of the Hop. WOW!!!

Ike kindly sent me a set of these super-fun digis and I used the "Contented" face for today's card.  Awww...so sweet kitty daydreaming about a yummy fish!!
You can find out more details about this card HERE.
Aren't these digital images with the interchangeable faces just amazing?!!  I had so much fun playing with them...and so will you.  Well, GOOD NEWS!.....Ike has a set of these to give to a winner EACH DAY OF THE HOP, but you have to play in the Daily Game AND put your name in the Linky below!!!
NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.

Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!

REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.

Day 2 Game - What annoying habit does your cat have?

I'll start.......
Our cat Caspian is mostly an outside kitty and a real sweetheart, but he has one rather annoying habit. He howls outside to come in and then after being inside for only a few minutes is howling to go back outside. That would be irritating enough, but when we try to let him outside....he runs all over the house evading us. The more we try to catch him, the cagier he gets. All we are trying to do is let him outside...which is what he wants!!!

It got to the point where we just wouldn't let him in. Of course, he still slips in sometimes when we have our hands full or something. Then, in our mild annoyance at knowing what is coming next, we often mutter.... "Oh, great! Caspian." or "Oh, hi...Caspian." Caspian LOVES that.  He thinks we have finally acknowledged his true status in the household by addressing him with his rightful titles: "Oh Great Caspian" or "Oh High Caspian"!  LOL...Cats!!

This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment telling about an annoying habit your cat has.
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the Ike's Art prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!

NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2019CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented. Thanks!!!

Okay.....let's continue on with the feline fun today!! Thanks so much for your excitement and participation!!!

🖤
Janis

  1. I no longer have my Sammy, but his habit was strange and puzzling rather than annoying. To pass between any two rooms in our house, he had to cross the hallway, and there was a certain point on the floor that he would NOT step on - instead he would leap several feet into the air to avoid it. That went on for the whole 14 years of his life.

  2. Ooooh - LUV those Carol Burch cats - I have a couple of those stamps I've never used yet. They look great in technicolour :-D The kitty with the Specs made me chuckle.
PAW-some Mood Cat card. Gorgeous colouring. I hope he gets his fishy dinner :-D

One of my cats - Kolin - loves to sit behind me and "wash " my hair !!! It's quite nice at first but he just doesn't know when to stop and starts to make my scalp sore !!! Not to mention the new kitten who seems to think that the leather sofa is the place to poop at night and the dog bed is for wee wees !!!! Grrrrr :-(

  3. My cat gets on my pillow and lays right against my head!

  4. Our cats have so many quirky habits but I think the most annoying is Darcy's crying as if some disaster has happened just when you've put the lights out and got comfy in bed. The wails from downstairs for no reason!

  5. First of all, I have all the Laurel Burch stamps on my wish list... that would be the prize of my dreams, lol! I have a purse and matching makeup bag that I absolutely LOVE! Now back to the game... One of our 'teenager' cats (Milo) runs after and chases our oldest cat Poopie and our youngest cat Mocha Latte which scares them. We are still not sure if he's trying to play or if he's just being an annoying little poop-head!

  6. Oh WOW! The prizes from the sponsors are so amazing and I love the projects you ladies have done with them. My Jezebel, the "camper" always comes in full of bark, leaves, pine needles and leaves a trail behind her each time she comes in. In the morning, in particular, her tail is just filled with stuff hanging off and she teases me by rubbing against my chair to ask for pets but then scurries away when I reach down. Then she sits by her treat dish and runs away when I get up to get her one, waits until I sit down again to eat it and starts the process all over again. (She takes after her father, my hubby, who also tracks in crap all day long, too.) My vacuum is ALWAYS full. Grrr!!! xxD

  7. Both our current cats are pretty weird in their own ways. Fitzy fetches small balls and puts his paws up on your legs like dogs do when he wants to be picked up, but most annoying is both cats prefer drinking from a running tap and summon a hoomin when thirsty. Yes they have water bowls and they even have a $100 cat drinking fountain which is slightly better than a bowl, but not as good as summoning a slave!

    ReplyDelete

    1. lol, Alex! We are all Hooman slaves! HoneyBear, Molly, and Queenie have agreed to let me share THEIR house as long as I keep their food and water dishes full and their litter box clean! As we all know, nobody "owns" a cat. :-D

  8. I too have a running tap drinker! She has even jumped in the tub before to get a drink not realizing there was water already in the tub! Needless to say we had a soaking wet cat and wet floors everywhere she ran. She also has the annoying habit of laying by my neck (on the back of the couch)and trying to lick/suck on my ear.

  9. Just an FYI that the link to the Stampendous Cat Lovers post takes you to a non-existent page. :-(
The most annoying habit currently in play comes from HoneyBear who is a large, long-haired, blue-eyed, white cat. He's 8 years old and has been with me since he was a tiny baby. He's never been an 'under-the-covers' cat, preferring to sleep on top of my hip, side, legs, - wherever he can settle his rather large body (14 pounds and I'm sure 12 of that is hair!) But as the cool days and cold nights arrived this year, he watched as the new baby kitten, Queenie, climbed right under the covers to get warm and cuddle. He whimpered and cried and tugged at the covers, begging to be allowed "in" only to immediately exit out the side of the bed. Once on the floor, he jumps back onto the bed and starts that whole process over again - begging to get under the covers, but exiting as soon as he gets there and cycling through it all again and again. Crazy cat!

    1. THANKS for letting me know abt the link. Maybe Stampendous will get that link live later today (I hope). I appreciate you noticing it.

Awww....HoneyBear sounds like a sweetie, but (like most cats) doesn't have a clue what he really wants!!! lol...

  10. My grandma's kitty loved jump on me when I was sleeping. I was very young and every time he scared me.

  11. Coco is a furniture ruiner.... she loves to shred furniture! My couch and loveseat were in tatters so I reluctantly shopped for a new set. Picked out something in a smooth leather-look fabric, and lo and behold... it isn't getting trashed by her! It is apparently not attracting her to scratch on it! Yay!

  12. I don't have any annoying
    things to relate. My cats
    are all outside cats and
    mostly wild.

  13. My last cat Wimpy loved to sit with me if I was outside gardening but he would insist on getting on my kneeling pad the minute I got up to move to another part of the garden. I tried putting down two kneeling pads down one me and one for him but no he always wanted the one I was on.Hugs ValeryAnne.

  14. Our little cat Iceman gets into bed every night with my husband and sits on his chest and grooms his beard. My husband doesn't mind, but the licking, licking, licking drives me crazy!!!

  16. Oh that cat with a mischievous look like he already ate the goldfish!! too funny!! More fab sponsors... yay!
The only annoying cat I recall is one I babysat... He would come in at 5am and pull my eyelids open, 'you in there?' style, to make me get up.

  17. Fabulous prizes today! Love the Laurel Burch cats.
The only annoying thing my boy Spartacus does is spray pee on the front door if he is upset about something. It doesn't happen very often.

  18. I can't really add a comment here as we don't currently have a cat

  19. Sabre is true to her name--out of the blue she will decide to nail you with her claws. she can be so affectionate and then--watch out!

  20. One of my Siamese cats loves to cuddle and if she scratches at me and while I am posting a card on my blog and I ignore...she will hide behind my numerous file cabinets in my office so when it's time to go to bed I have to beg and coax her out so I can close up my office. If I take the time to cuddle her then she will go to her cat bed and sleep until we have to go to bed. It's usually when I'm exhausted and I get irritated with her.

  21. This is a fun one, Janis! I'll go with Kiwi's most annoying habit - stealing things from my craftroom! Mostly it's scraps of paper but he has taken small stamps and dies - he bites the plastic and carries them off to wherever! While this is annoying in itself, it's the loud bragging he does when he conquers these objects that's so annoying, especially when it's in the middle of the night! Now I leave strips of paper for him to steal (the same ones over and over) and that seems to satisfy him, although he still meows loudly to let everyone know that he's proud of his conquest!

Thank you for Day 2 - I'm way behind in my commenting already and hope to get some catching up done today! I've been around to thank Day 2's generous sponsors, either on their blog or FB, and I like or follow all of them! This hop has really got my cat inspiration flowing - I'm having fun!

  22. It has to be sitting on the newspaper/magazine when you want to read it. My darling cat was run over so we don't have one any more.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lola's most annoying habit is the yelling! Sometimes she yells for hugs, and then runs away when you get near her. Other times she'll ignore her food until ten minutes after it is taken away, and then start yelling that she's hungry.

  24. What stunning prizes! Those Burch cats= wow! Karens certainly did it justice! Love her little specticaled kitty jusing the dies too! And yours Janis- too cute with the look on its face! My Yassi decides to jump on and chase a foot moving on under the covers in the middle of the night! One night she wouldnt stop so put her outside the door where she cried to come back in.... couldnt win! She's settled down a little more now. Little monkey!

  26. Oh, today's cat card from you just makes me smile. Those cat expressions are priceless. Ike certainly captured all their cattitude in spades!
The most annoying habit that my cats developed (even though they were all neutered) was marking on my craft supplies, ugh. A favorite target was vellum or plastic. Fortunately, I had photo albums with protective pages, but I had several albums that had to be cleaned thoroughly, with the album covers replaced. I think my kitties began to resent the time I spent on my crafting, what do you think?!

  27. My cat, Velcro, has this annoying habit of wanting attention when I am in my craft room. He won't want any attention from me until I pull out my supplies and computer. Next thing I know he is up on my craft table walking across my keyboard, rubbing his face on my face, and barely missing the the open ink pad! :)

  28. My last kitty was always scratching and damaging things. That was many years ago and today no more pets in our house.

  29. Hi friends
we have three cats and teh most annoying habit of Chooti is taht since he wants all teh attention he will wait till we foondle him and as sion as he has had enough he will claw us no matter what.
Mama poos stays with me in my room and i hv put apillow and on achair and made that place very comfortable to sleep on but she loves to sleep on my chair. So she will sleep in the wahsoom on the smal chair until i sleep and slowly come and gte into my chair. I tried all tactics but finally gave up as nothing worked. now she has her own way.Blessings

  30. Love that fun design on your card, Janis. Lovely color scheme, too. I'm pretty sure I have that polka dot paper … it's old! LOL

  31. My cat Mickey wasn't annoying except for the claws in the leg once in a while...my favorite quirk of his was when he sat at the foot of the crucifix on the wall...he'd look up at it and then down at the ground. We always said he was praying!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Fabulous sponsors and super prizes on offer in the line up today, Janis. Karen's cards are terrific! Just to let you know, I already have the Laurel Burch Indigo Cats stamp set.
Annoying habits .... Casey snuggles up close and love to put his paw on my laptop. I am sure he knows what a track pad is and he actually knows more shortcuts (sticky keys, I think they are called) than I do, so I have to spend ages googling how to revert them. Apart from that he has the most amazingly loud meow when needing food. No amount of 'I'm coming now', or, 'just one moment' will pacify him, he just gets louder! He also knows that scratching his claws on the wood panel will make you jump up immediately to see what he wants! And one final one...he comes in through the back door and immediately heads to the front door to be let out again - this goes on for ever!!! (not really - it just feels that way some days) xx
