BONUS: Ike's Show us Your Pussies - Cats Only Challenge theme this month is Furrything Goes + MEOW-loween. So if you make a kitty creation for the Cat Hop (Halloween or not), you can also link it up over there!! Yay!!

Ike has graciously designed a fabulous new set of digital images for prizes for our Daily Games.......her brand-new Mood Cat digital set with interchangeable faces to add to the cat image. How fun and creative is that??!!! She is generously providing a set of these to a lucky winner of the Daily Game EACH day of the Hop. WOW!!!

Ike was really sweet and sent me a set of these super-fun digis. For my last card of the Hop, I used the complete cat image.

You can find out more details about this card HERE.
Hope you enjoyed my cat cards showcasing Ike's new set this week.  Don't you wish you had it?  Well, GOOD NEWS!.....Ike has a set of these to give to a winner EACH DAY OF THE HOP, but you have to play in the Daily Game AND put your name in the Linky below!!!

NOTE:  PLEASE PLAY THE DAILY GAMES EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE DRAWINGS FOR THE DIGI PRIZES.

Not all of you use digis and have indicated that to me when you SIGNED IN.  I hope you will still participate in the Daily Games.  You do NOT have to participate in the digi giveaway to answer the Daily Game question that lets us all get to know each other better.  If you DO want to be in the digi prize drawing, be sure to link up your name each day that you participate!

REMEMBER.....you must link up your name in the linky tool at the bottom of each post to be in the drawing for the digi prizes.

DAY 6 GAME: Are your cats friendly with each other...or are they territorial and have no friends except for you?

I'll start.....

It is said that girl kitties are "catty" and not likely to pal around with other cats, while boy kitties (esp neutered ones) are more relaxed and often will eat and sleep with other household cats. I think this is generally true. I have the "cattiest" girl cats one could ever imagine.

My top cat in the house has always been a female who swats and hisses pre-emptively whenever another kitty is too close. We have a saying in our house...."She got too close and had to swat."....meaning that even though it was the top cat who walked close to the other cat, top cat still swatted. So unfair. So catty!! Jetta is my current top cat in the house, but I have several other girl cats, too, and NONE of them get along with ANY of my other cats. They are sooooooooo naughty!!!

My boy cats are different story..... Marshmallow and Alexander are total best friends.... inseparable and sooooo cute together! Marshy actually has had two other companions in the past that have both passed on, and one of them was a girl, Suzie, who was a social misfit in my cat tribe. I think Suzie really wanted to be friends with other cats (which shows you how odd she was!), but had such a strange way about her that all the other cats thought she was seriously weird!! Simple and sweet Marshmallow also was initially put off by the way she would suddenly rush over to him and let out one of her piercing shrieks a mere two inches from his face. (Yes, that's really how Suzie would greet other cats...ROFL!!! No wonder they didn't like her!) But eventually he accepted her and the two of them were constant companions until she died.

I dearly wish all my cats would be lovey-dovey with each other. I adore seeing photos where a family has 5 cats and they are all snuggled together peacefully. But it just never has been the case with mine. How about yours?

This is how to play the game to be eligible for the prize drawing:
1.  Make sure you have SIGNED IN HERE to be eligible for prizes.
2. Leave a comment.  Perhaps you have ever only had one cat at a time so you don't know if yours would get along with each other.   Just leave a comment and say that.....or tell us about some cats you know that are friends (or NOT).
3. After you finish your comment: if you want to be in the drawing for the prize, fill out your (own) name in the link up below. This doesn't have any thumbnails so no photo needed! You don't even need a blog!!!  This is for everyone!!!
NOTE: The Daily Game link ups will be open the entire duration of the Hop, including the extra day for comments. Entries need to be in by 11:55 pm Pacific, Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 to be eligible for the daily prize. So you have more than just today to comment and link up. I realize that not everyone has access to a printer or likes to use digis, so I am still keeping the link up gadget to make sure the digi prizes go to winners who can use them. But I am hoping EVERYONE will participate in answering the questions whether they are putting their name in for the prize or not.

Okay, now it is your turn!!

REMEMBER: Link your cat-themed projects over on the Main Hop Page. (Please use #2019CatLoversHop on social media!!) This link-up below is just to enter the drawing for the Daily Game after you have commented with your Kitty Roll Call. Thanks!!!

Okay....now get those last projects finished and posted because TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LINK UP PROJECTS!!!  But you will still have through tomorrow to finish up your commenting.

Thank you sooooooooooo much for being a part of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop.  Your excitement and participation has been such a joy!  Tomorrow we will have a Wrap-Up Post, so I will see you then!!

🖤
Janis

  1. I had 2 Main coon cats , Socks and Boots both female and fixed, they were together since they were 8 weeks old and they loved each other, Socks passed away last summer she was 14 years old and boots still goes and lays down where Socks used to.. She misses her friend..

  2. We have only one out of eight that is catty and that's the oldest one, Poopie, who is a Manx. She regularly hisses and swats at any of the others who come near her, although this behavior has improved tremendously over the past couple years since we adopted the two from the shelter here. It's funny how they all know to steer clear of her!

  3. And I wanted to thank you for all your hard work arranging this hop! I'm SO glad I 'met' you in time to participate! I'm already looking forward to next year's hop and please keep me in mind if you need any help! (And P.S. the Flickr link to your card today doesn't appear to be working... says I don't have permission to view it.)

  4. Love your card - again beautiful kitty art by Ike, and you fabulous coloring! this kitty as a smug little look on its face! Love it! Yassi is an only cat, but being a recent enough mum, I guess she was fairly socialised and also being at a shelter for a while? When Blackie (re-educated ex feral) arrived, we had a bicoloured Ragdoll called Cosmo and he dominated. Poor Blackie got swatted out of no where.. walking past a door or too near where Cosmo was apparently sleeping (with one eye open). Blackie was twice the size and twice as ferious, but this Ragdoll had it mentally over him by recognising that Blackie was a fearful cat and played on it. Blackie lived another 8yrs longer than Cosmo (who also passed away at 18yrs)and I dont think Blackie had any tears of sadness (unlike us) when Cosmo wasnt there anymore. I know about boy cats! Yassi is my first female cat. Janis, I have loved reading your stories about your cats. Thankyou for your massive amount of work you have done to bring this event to us again. Its a huge undertaking and to be honest.. I've found my paper crafting passion again through it. Hats off to you!! (you need a medal!!) xx

  5. Gorgeous card with MOOD Cat Janis. Thank you so much for using them and I'm glad you enjoyed them xxx
Well - I have a lot of cats as you know and some of them don't get on. Some days everyone is OK and others there are 'spats' but there are lots of places to go.... cat trees and high places and also dark spots for the ' cave dwellers' so everyone is fine. The only time we have trouble is when one of the "Interlopers" creeps in from outside, then there is a problem. These are not my cats but are drawn to my Cat Magnet often and they try and sneak in through the cat flap. Usually, at the first sound of growling or hissing my dog Moishe goes running to sort it all out with a big bark in their faces !! LoL

Thank you so very much for holding this Cat Hop again this year. Now I know even more hard work will start for you sorting out all the Winners. Bravo Janis xxxx

  7. Ahhh! Looks like a very Zen moment for this kitty and the card gives off such a calm, soothing vibe. Gorgeous! I adore this set and what you've done with it. My kitties were just the opposite. Well, not all of them, just Goliath and Jezebel. Goliath used to get so distraught when we weren't home, or he just couldn't find us that we decided, after a year, that he needed company. Jezzie was already kind of a skittish shy girl but did seem to think her big brother was the cat's meow. (Actual half siblings, though obviously not from the same litter) Goliath, however made it extremely clear that David and I were HIS parents and HIS ALONE. He'd hiss and chase her out of the room when we were relaxing on the couch and even went so far at times to lie in the doorway to keep him from entering. If, for some reason, she made it to David's lap FIRST, as soon as Goliath appeared she'd jump down and run out the door. Yet, she always acted so happy to see him and rushed over to say "Hi" (by smelling his butt) until he shooed her away. I know she still looks for him and we thought that perhaps she'd be more social with us now that he's gone. The first week or so she was a bit more affectionate than usual, but now she pretty much uses us as her purr-sonal candy dispenser and otherwise remains a loner. No more big brother to adore and annoy.

Thank you for another year of wonderful fun, Janis. I wish I'd been more prepared but have enjoyed everything immensely. You are such a star for putting this together each year. I don't envy you the end sort out, though. My deepest appreciation for all of your hard work and Best of luck! xxD

  8. That is a great set of images Ike created and your cards all week have been fantastic. I currently have three male cats and they are not cuddlers with each other even though two were supposedly littermates. Two of them play a bit with each other, but the little one usually ends up with some kind of bite on his face after a playtime. They all love a good zoom around the house too!

Thanks so much for hosting this challenge, I love to comment and receive the comments as well. Take care!

  9. Loving today's card, Janis, and your background papers are marvelous choices! You've done great things with Ike's cat faces all week long. :-D Fabulous work on the hop this year! Thank you.
My cats are the exact opposite of yours. I have 2 females (Molly- age 4, Queenie-age 5 months) and 1 neutered male (HoneyBear - age 8). While it took an adjustment period as each one joined the household, once we were done with that, they all became good friends. They play together, sleep together, eat together, and all demand attention from me at pretty much the same time. They all hang out in the craft room if I'm in there and generally move from room to room with me throughout the day. The strange part is that HoneyBear, the largest and the one who's been with me the longest, is a total coward! He flees for the darkest corner if anyone comes to visit. He seems to have taught that behavior to the other two, neither of whom were skittish of strangers when they first got here. Now, it's a mad rush of disappearing cat tails the instant they hear a car in the driveway! If the guests stay a while and things get quiet, Molly or Queenie will sneak out to inspect and report back to HoneyBear, but he stays hidden until several minutes after the guests have gone. At that point, he comes to me for cuddling and generally begs a treat of some sort. (Yes, he gets it, too!) :-D

  10. your card is super cute! I really like the sentiment. I think my cat believes EVERY moment is HIS moment. :D

when I have had more than one cat, they were always good friends. the cat I currently have is best buddies with our dog. they have play time several times a day. it's a hoot to watch them!

one of my sons has 2 cats, and they are super good friends, too. he sends me photos all the time of the crazy things the two of them do. another son has a dog and a cat, and the 2 of them are also super close. I guess in our family it's just a big peaceable kingdom. :)

  11. Coco HATES cats! She had to be in the isolation room at the shelter we adopted her from because she couldn't tolerate seeing and hearing cats. Shortly after we brought her home, she spotted a cat on our front porch and just about went through the window she was so upset. So... she is destined to be an 'only child'. I've often wondered if she would tolerate a kitten, but I haven't ever tried to introduce one. My daughter has a Golden Retriever she occasionally brings over and Coco loves her!

  12. My cats are all outside
    wild cats, so I really
    only see them together
    when they eat. They all
    get along really good and
    rubber on each other all
    the time. My big tomcat
Grout, is loved by all of
    them, always rubbing on him.
Most love to be petted, a

so enjoyed all the fun this

  15. Loving your card for today. I have had lots and lots of cats over the years (having been a breeder) and these 3 are worthy of a mention here. Kaddy came to me as a rescue as her owner/breeder could no longer afford to continue breeding and had to move into non friendly cat accommodation. As soon as she arrived she became top cat and kept all the others firmly under her paw. She never instigated fights but if she ever heard one going on she was straight into the fray and regardless whether the nearest cat to her was the instigator or not she would clip them round the ear with a resounding punch from her front paw claws extended. It was so funny to watch as the poor cat that got her attention looked round as if to say why me I didn't do it!! My big red persian boy (Foxy) was a complete softy. He loved it when the girls had kittens and would take over the toilet cleaning duties. Once mum had fed the babies she would be nudged out of the way and he would then climb into the basket and wash and clean the litter to perfection. Wimpy was another washer upper. He adored nothing more than to get into the basket with his sister and pin her down with both his front paws round her neck and then proceed to wash her face and ears to within an inch of her life. She loved it and would end up looking as if she had had her head dunked in a bucket of water. So many more cats I could tales of. Hugs ValeryAnne.

  16. Oh Janis, that cat today looks so sweet and huggable....I want to just squish her! I love the way you shaded her so delicately and added a soft blush pink to her ears. Speaking of that pink, what color did you use? My pink markers are always too dark and too "pink".
So...as for my cats, they were not social at all with eachother, except for Teddy (who loved everyone and everything). Bailey was especially stand-offish, and I remember being shocked one winter to see him actually sitting close enough to Teddy to touch. We figured that the cold weather must have made an impression enough to cause him to relax a bit.
All of our cats were strays or rescues and they joined the house at different times, so I suppose they were annoyed when a new one showed up. I once read an explanation of why cats would often refuse to welcome a new addition to the household. It asked how you would feel if your husband suddenly brought home a strange woman and introduced her as "our new wife"...haha!

  17. Love the look on the kitty's face - she's up to something! lol Well, my cat bird (Rocky) definitely doesn't like anyone but me & the hubs. Even hen my nieces & nephew take care of him while we're away, they can't really play with him … but yes, he'll eat a 'cookie' from anyone! lol And our adopted neighbor cat, Ana Banana, she's a loner, too. And has brought us a few presents, he's so sweet … when she wants to be. lol
Thanks for an awesome and fun hop as always, my dear friend. Always appreciate you and the sponsors for being so generous. And you're right - there's a fun camaraderie in this hop like no other. ;-)

  18. Dear Janis
Todays card is awesome and yes in our house Chooti the young male dominates and hits the other two claw and purr too this happens specially durng meal times. So isnt it understandable.
I will join teh prayer request of yours. Dear Janis I dont have enough words to thank your genorosity. I will sure join you next year and if i can be of any help pls send me a mail and i am glad to do it. May you and your family be blessed with gd health and happiness always

  20. Aaaw, she's coloured like our Snowie! Love your card, Janis! Sorry I'm late getting here for Day 6 - I fell behind and wanted to do some more commenting - I have about 25 to go and I will finish up today! Man, where did this week go? I can't believe it's over but I've had so much fun! I don't think I have enough praise to lavish upon you for all the work you do to keep this hop running smoothly. I found it hard to keep up with commenting and card making so I bow down to you. You've done an amazing job again this year and I think this was the best year yet!

In answer to your question, my cats all tolerate each other but Honeydew has always been a bully. He terrorizes Kiwi to the point that Kiwi seems to have low self-esteem and is very needy. Of course when I give Kiwi the extra attention, then Honeydew is jealous and takes it out on Kiwi even more. I give them both lots of cuddles but Honeydew wants to be king. Poor Snowie has been on the receiving end of Honeydew but she doesn't take any of it. She's only about one-third his size but stands her ground! Snowie has bullied Kiwi in the past but not so much any more since she got Thyroid Disease. None of the kitties cuddle together but Honeydew and Snowie will share a sunny spot as long as they're not touching. They seem to have a friendship of sorts. I could talk about them all day! Really loving this hop!

  21. Aw what a beautiful card Janis, Such a serene cat! I have three boy cats and Spats doesn't like any other cats at all and will growl if either of the others gets too close! Pepper and Darcy met when my husband and I moved in together and they have become good buddies, they like to hang out together during the day and enjoy a good game of cat and mouse! It's so cute! xx

  23. Velcro wants to be friends with Catapult all the time, but Catapult is more like a Bratapult. She tolerates her Velcro, but would prefer being an only cat again. When I brought Velcro home when she was 4 years old, she would barely let me touch her. She was so mad at me!

  24. I always imagined the having two cats, they would cosy up together to sleep. Wrong! My two cats had to keep their distance. Indie was sociable, but not on his own territory, whereas Casey was the shy one and would just follow Indie around keeping a good few meters distance between them. Now that Indie has gone, Casey depends upon us for company. He likes to go outside, but spends most of his time in the garden.
Thanks to Janis for organising this fabulous hop once more. I can't imagine the work that she puts in beforehand and then the 'after the event' sorting out still needs to be done. All is very much appreciated. xx
